Om 21:30 na de lessen begint de Tango salon/Practica in het Meterhuis, hier kun je wat je net hebt geleerd meteen in de praktijk brengen, of gewoon wat drinken als je de andere tango dansers wilt zien dansen.

Charlotte Baines.. Opgeleid tot professioneel klassieke danseres in Londen, heeft Charlotte Baines (UK) jarenlang deel uitgemaakt van The National Classical Ballet Company of Israel. Geïnspireerd door de Nederlandse eigentijdse danswereld verhuisde ze naar Amsterdam. Zij sloot zich aan bij het Scapino Ballet in Rotterdam en genoot van een succesvolle carrière als één van de solisten van dit gezelschap. In 2000 werd zij repetiteur en coach voor Scapino en heeft diverse Europese topchoreografen mogen assisteren bij hun produkties. In 2004 startte ze bij de Amsterdamse tangoschool TangoTalks en inmiddels geeft zij daar nu zelf les samen met haar partner Laurent Trincal. Als performer is Charlotte nog regelmatig te zien in diverse kleine dansprodukties.
Laurent Trincal.. Laurent Trincal (FR) is getraind als klassiek danser bij ‘the Paris Opera Ballet School’ en ‘the International Dance Center of Cannes’ Meer dan 18 jaar heeft hij een succesvolle carrière gehad bij diverse balletgezelschappen in België, Monte Carlo, Holland (Scapino Ballet), Frankrijk en Zwitserland. In 2000 behaalde hij zijn diploma tot klassiek balletleraar. Sinds 2003 is hij co-manager (samen met choreograaf Eric Oberdorff) van Compagnie Humaine in Nice waar hij ook nog steeds performt. In 2006 kwam hij terug naar Holland waar hij samen met zijn partner Charlotte tango begon te dansen bij TangoTalks, waar zij nu ook samen lesgeven.
Charlotte & Laurent:
Tango is a social dance that brings people together of every class, nationality, age, color, shape and size. It is not necessary to have any dance experience, just the desire to try something new, and the ability to listen - to the music and to your partner. People often mistake Argentinean tango with ballroom tango [choreography with staccato head movements,] but it is an intimate sensual dance based on improvisation originating from Buenos Aires in the late 19th century.
Tango for beginners is essentially about learning to dance 'with someone' - it can be with someone you know, someone you don’t know or an opportunity to share a special moment with your partner. There is a leader, usually the man and a follower, usually the woman. The goal is to communicate with unspoken dialogue, through movement and body language.
You will discover, through its different styles, the richness of tango music, learn to express its emotions and moods and to play with the rhythms.
We are great believers that learning to dance tango should be fun! - Of course it has to be learnt properly and a good basic technique is essential. At the end of the course you will be able to combine simple steps in a playful way to your own interpretation of the music.
